Basic Chunky Newborn Beanie Video Tutorial

I made a tutorial video for the Basic Chunky Newborn Beanie.  You can get the written pattern in this post
http://oodles4noodles.blogspot.com/2011/06/basic-chunky-newborn-beanie-free.html

Below is a step by step video tutorial in 2 parts. I tried to make it detailed enough so someone who had never crocheted before can make the hat.  Hope you make a few for the Beanie Drive!

  4. I was ready to give up on trying to crochet when I found this site...This was BY FAR the easiest to follow instructional video I've seen on crocheting! My enthusiasm has been renewed, thanks to you! I completed the precious little baby beanie in less than an hour, and it looks great. I'm ready to make another one! Thanks so much for the clear, easy to follow instructions.

  6. WOW, this video is GREAT!! Thank You sooo very much for taking your time to make it. By watching your video and making a beanie along with you, I now know that my other "attempts" at them have all been backwards! Haha. Thanks again!

  7. What if you wanted to make it a little bigger?

  8. Awesome video! It's the first one I've found that actually guides you through each different stitch. One question though...
I am just getting a bigger and bigger circle, rather than it curling into the hat shape. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you so much!

    1. My guess is that you are continuing to increase after round 3. At the end of round 3 you should have 27 sts. For rounds 4-7 you work one st in each st of the previous row. No more increasing. Also be sure your are not putting a st into the joining slip st. Does this help?

  9. Wow! This is absolutely the best video explaining exactly where to put the crochet hook and how to count. Your camera position is spot on. I'm a beginner and have made several items that just dont seem right and I have ended up fudging. Now I know why. I've been crocheting in the slip knot--I didn't know I shouldn't crochet in it. I wish I had found your video earlier--my projects would have been much nicer. Thank you!
